MathCounts Team Calculates Strong Finish
Places Sixth at Competition
The 1-R MathCounts team, composed of eighth graders Garrett B., Breana D., Macey K., Audrey Q., Alex S., and Ryan W.; seventh grader MacKenzie M.; and sixth graders Megan B., Caleb J., and Brandon K. competed in Kearney at the Central Nebraska MathCounts competition on Wednesday, February 1.
The competition included both individual and team components. 1-R eighth grader Ryan W. placed 34th out of the 184 students taking the test. In the team competition, the 1-R team finished sixth out of the 21 teams present, outdistancing many larger schools.
